How to extract pages from a PDF
Pull out just the pages you need into a new document.
Sending someone a 90-page contract when they asked for the signature page wastes their time and exposes information they did not need. Extracting gives you a new document containing only what you meant to send.
The steps
- Upload the document.
- Choose the pages you want to keep, by thumbnail or as a list.
- Run the tool and download the new file.
Extraction also reorders
Pages appear in the order you list them, not in their original order. Asking for 5,1,3 gives you a three-page document in that sequence. It is a quick way to pull out and rearrange in one step, and worth remembering before reaching for a second tool.
Extract or delete
Extract keeps what you name; Delete Pages removes what you name. Use whichever needs the shorter list — three pages out of ninety is an extraction, three pages out of five is a deletion.
Check what is left behind
Extraction copies pages, so anything on a page you did not select is simply absent from the result. That makes it a reasonable way to limit what you share — but page content is the only thing it filters. If a page you are keeping contains something sensitive, redact it.
