Questions about Optimize PDF
Will my file definitely get smaller?
Not necessarily. Optimization removes waste — orphaned objects, redundant data, uncompressed streams. A file that is already clean may shrink very little, or not at all. Nothing is lost either way. If you need a guaranteed reduction, use Compress PDF.
What is the difference from Compress PDF?
Optimize is lossless: pixels and text are untouched. Compress downsamples images, which does reduce quality. Optimize first; compress only if you still need more.
Does it change how the document looks?
No. The rendered result is identical, page for page.
